For a first time home owner this may be one of the best times to get into the housing market. Home prices are currently lower in the UK by 15% to 20%, but the banks (and their strict lending policies) are still a major barrier to overcome. Although a great deal of hardship has been suffered, this market has also generated some real opportunities for those just coming into the housing arena. With home prices as low as they are, it is not surprising to come across homes that are selling below their value. But that news is no good to you if you can’t get the finance to take advantage.
